The County Board on Thursday on a 12-6 vote approved a plan for adding bicycle racks to buses, which would cost some $650,000 to purchase plus another $110,000 a year for maintenance and loss of revenue from ads on the front of buses. The county hopes to cover most or all of the costs through a federal grant and private fund raising. The rackidea has been advanced by biking enthusiasts.
